Marine Radio LRCOP
LROCP Marine Radio
Description
At Boat & Jetski FNQ Marine, we offer the Marine Radio Operator's Certificate of Proficiency for both our Long Range (LROCP) and Short Range (SROCP) courses. These comprehensive courses cover VHF, MF/HF, and DSC, fulfilling all the necessary requirements for recreational boaters. Whether you own a VHF radio or frequently venture offshore, our courses are highly recommended.
Obtaining either certificate can also fulfill the requirements for a commercial crew license, specifically for a Coxswain Grade 1. Additionally, the LROCP course is a mandatory prerequisite for achieving a Master <24 license, recognized both nationally and internationally.
Marine Radios come in different frequencies, including 27 MHz, VHF, and MF/HF. To operate a licensed VHF or MF/HF radio, it is essential to possess a certificate. Our courses provide comprehensive knowledge of various aspects, such as the phonetic alphabet, fault-finding, maintenance, call signs, frequencies, and most importantly, operational procedures and appropriate communication protocols.
The Short Range Operator's Certificate of Proficiency aligns with the skill set certification: MARSS00010 - Marine Radio Operator's VHF Skill Set.
The Long Range Operator's Certificate of Proficiency aligns with the skill set certification: MARSS00011 - Marine Radio Operator's VHF and HF Skill Set.
